PRIVACY POLICY
01 · Who this applies to
This policy outlines how I — Ziggy Razuki — collect, store, use and protect the personal information of people who work with me or enquire about working with me. I am committed to complying with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you have questions at any point, please reach out directly. I would always rather talk it through than have you wonder.
02 · What personal information is
Personal information is anything that identifies you — your name, phone number, email address, date of birth. This is the everyday kind of information that most services collect. Sensitive information goes deeper — it includes details about your health, mental wellbeing, family history, religious or cultural background, or anything else that, if shared without your knowledge, could leave you open to harm or discrimination. Because of the nature of the work I do, some of what you share with me will fall into this category. I treat it accordingly.
03 · Why I collect it
I collect personal information because it helps me understand you and support you well. Without some basic information about who you are and where you're starting from, I cannot do my job properly. Due to my duty of care, I am unable to work with someone anonymously. If you would prefer to use a preferred name or pseudonym in sessions, that is entirely fine — but I do need your legal name on file.
04 · How I collect it
Information about you may reach me through:
What you share with me verbally during sessions
Written communication — email, SMS, or message
My intake form and online booking system
Social media, if you reach out that way
A guardian, where the client is under 18
05 · How I store it
Your information is stored securely - only I have access to it. I do not retain your credit card or banking details after payment is processed. I also make a point of not holding onto information longer than necessary, disposing of it securely in line with my legal obligations. In the unlikely event of a security breach, I will investigate promptly, take appropriate action, and notify you in accordance with the Privacy Act.
06 · Who I share it with
I will not share your personal information with anyone outside of our work together without your explicit consent — with one exception: if I am required to do so by law. This includes situations where there is a serious and credible risk of harm to you or someone else. In those circumstances, my duty of care means I may need to act. I would always try to discuss this with you first. It is unlikely your information would ever be disclosed to anyone outside of Australia.
07 · Your rights
You have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you, and to request that it be updated or corrected. I'll handle any such request in line with the Privacy Act — and with the same straightforwardness I try to bring to everything. There may be limited circumstances where I am unable to provide access to certain information, but I will always explain why if that is the case.
08 · Complaints
If you feel your information hasn't been handled appropriately, please come to me first. I take these things seriously and will do everything I can to address your concern directly and promptly. If you remain unsatisfied after that conversation, you can make a formal complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
OAIC website: www.oaic.gov.au — for information on how to lodge a complaint.
09 · Changes to this policy
If I make changes to this policy, I'll let you know via email or through my website. I don't anticipate significant changes, but I believe in keeping things transparent. If you have any questions about any of the above, please get in touch: ziggy@razuki.com.
